My work starts with discarded objects that act as my frame for the rest of the piece. Often these non-biodegradable objects are found while strolling through neighborhood yard sales and sidewalks, or given to me either by chance or with purpose. For those objects I juxtapose them with dried natural materials I salvage from plants that I collect. Much of the modules that make up the rest of the piece comes from nature in some form, from dried flora and moss to similar pieces representing nature but are not created naturally. Through the transformation of these nostalgic and iconic items these sculptures challenge the perception of resourcefulness and wastefulness, blurring the line between what is artificial and natural.
